Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior-level Solutions Architect to lead technical solution development for government RFPs and proposals in the defense domain. The role requires deep expertise in systems engineering, architecture design, and engagement with government customers.

The candidate should possess TS/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, and a proven track record in delivering end-to-end technical solutions for complex space and IT systems. Space domain experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a polygraph.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Experience with space systems, satellite architectures, ground systems, or space domain awareness.
Experience working in the defense industry supporting U.S. Government customers.
Track record supporting or leading technical proposals responding to government RFPs.
Familiarity with government acquisition processes and proposal development lifecycles.
Ability to develop end-to-end technical solutions across complex, multidisciplinary Space Systems, IT Systems, GEOINT, or SIGINT problem sets.

Responsibilities

Lead technical solution development for government RFPs and proposals.
Author technical volumes, white papers, and solution narratives from concept to completion.
Analyze and decompose complex government requirements across diverse mission areas and technical domains.
Collaborate with capture managers, business development leads, and subject matter experts to shape differentiated technical strategies.
Identify and integrate emerging technologies, architectures, and methodologies into proposed solutions.
Develop solution architectures, system designs, technical approaches, and implementation roadmaps tailored to customer needs.
Develop capability prototypes and architect solutions.
Engage government customers and stakeholders during pre-RFP shaping activities.
Provide technical bases of estimates and work breakdown structures to cost and pricing teams.
Monitor the competitive landscape, industry trends, and government priorities within the intelligence domain.

Author technical volumes, white papers, and solution narratives from concept to completion
Analyze and decompose complex government requirements across diverse mission areas and technical domains
Collaborate with capture managers, business development leads, and subject matter experts to shape differentiated technical strategies
Identify and integrate emerging technologies, architectures, and methodologies into proposed solutions

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Bachelor's degree plus 18 years of experience, or master's degree plus 14 years of experience
Minimum 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, solutions architecture, or a related technical discipline
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a polygraph
Experience with space systems, satellite architectures, ground systems, or space domain awareness
Experience working in the defense industry supporting U.S. Government customers
Track record supporting or leading technical proposals responding to government RFPs
Experience supporting capture and business development activities
Familiarity with government acquisition processes and proposal development lifecycles
Ability to develop end-to-end technical solutions across complex, multidisciplinary Space Systems, IT Systems, GEOINT, or SIGINT problem sets
Ability to operate across a broad range of technical domains
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to structure solutions with incomplete information
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to manage multiple concurrent proposals under tight deadlines
Preferred: background in IT services, cloud solutions, or managed services for government customers
Preferred: familiarity with IC systems, community customers, and mission sets
Preferred: prior Solutions Architect or Chief Engineer experience on large government programs
Preferred: advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Preferred: comfort using LLMs, writing code, and creating prototype tools
