Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs invites applications for a physician leader in the Section of Pulmonary and Critical Medicine at the Salisbury VA HealthCare Center, NC.

The role oversees three sites (Salisbury, Charlotte, Kernersville) with responsibility for inpatient, ICU, and outpatient care, driving quality and change across the program. The Chief will set direction for pulmonary services, supervise licensed staff, and advance patient care standards in alignment with VA policy.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from a school approved by VA.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US.
• Board certification in relevant specialty preferred.
• Experience in pulmonary and critical care settings beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Pulmonary & Critical Care services at Salisbury, Charlotte and Kernersville sites.
• Oversee inpatient and ICU care, consults, and procedural services.
• Develop and enforce clinical practice standards and policies for pulmonology and respiratory therapy.
• Participate in quality assurance, peer review and recruitment activities.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure patient access and program effectiveness.
