Student Basic Needs Coalition (SBNC) is hiring its first Chief Product Officer to lead the next stage of our product function, turning an early success into a scalable platform that measurably improves student outcomes.

The role oversees product strategy, discovery, and execution for a platform that guides students from screening to benefits receipt, with a strong emphasis on evidence, AI-enabled features, and campus collaboration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of management experience in product roles.
• Experience taking products from 0 to 1, early leader.
• Experience shipping AI-enabled product features.
• Experience in higher education, government benefits, or regulated environments.
• Strong product judgment under resource constraints.
• Track record building scalable products for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Set product direction and aligned roadmaps with organizational goals.
• Lead and grow a lean technology team while staying close to the work.
• Own roadmap execution and prioritize work with limited engineering capacity.
• Lead product discovery with qualitative and quantitative research.
• Define where AI belongs in SBNC's product and evaluate features.
