Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a highly motivated Chief Pilot. You will join the Commercial Operations team responsible for executing Joby’s vision for an air taxi service, serving as the certificated air carrier for 14 CFR Part 135 operations.

You will develop manuals, procedures, and training programs, working with experts across Joby to support product, pilot recruitment, and safety. The role is based in Marina, CA and requires relocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Experience as pilot in command (PIC) with 3,000 hours in 14 CFR Parts 135/121 operations preferred.
• Must hold Airline Transport Pilot certificate (ATP).
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and Part 91/135 operations.
• Willingness to relocate to Marina, CA.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of pilots conducting 14 CFR Parts 91 and 135 operations and remain available to fly in these operations.
• Own and manage the pilot training program for revenue and non-revenue flight operations.
• Develop and implement pilots’ procedures for remote and autonomous commercial flights.
• Build supervision and management structure for Joby’s commercial pilots globally.
