The Chief Technologist monitors and reports daily aspects of imaging services. Assists the Manager (Operations / Center Manager) and/or Radiology Supervisor in coordinating daily operations to maximize quality of patient care and image quality, ensure proper equipment performance, maintain safe and clean equipment, and control service costs. Schedules team member work assignments. Conducts or assists with team member evaluations and education. Will oversee multiple modalities, regardless of individual licensure.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
  1. Performs clinical scans and is responsible for patient safety. Scan time may range from 60% to 80%. Scanning hours are routinely scheduled or filled as needed.
  2. Creates and distributes team member schedules. Approves timecards (typically for up to 40 team members). Hires, manages performance, develops team members, and conducts new hire and annual performance reviews.
  3. Acts as customer point of contact for primary escalations. Liaises between customers, operations leadership, and sales. Supports unit audits, accreditation activities, and preparedness for regulatory bodies. Works with the team and customers on protocol development and review.
  4. Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Associate's degree and certification from college or technical school in Radiology/Nuclear Medicine or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of scanning experience preferred.
  • CPR Certification.
  • State licensure in supported modalities, if applicable.
  • Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
  • Technologists providing MRI services: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract; MRI scanning experience.
  • Technologists providing CT services: ARRT(CT); CT scanning experience.
  • Technologists providing PET services: ARRT(N) or NMTCB; PET scanning experience.
  • Technologists providing PET and Diagnostic CT services: ARRT(N) or NMTCB and ARRT(CT).
  • Technologists providing Ultrasound services: ARDMS or ARRT(S); ultrasound scanning experience.
  • Technologists providing Mammography: ARRT(M); Mammography scanning experience.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications.
  • May require 25% local travel.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
Physical Requirements:

May be exposed to outside weather, blood/body fluids, infectious and environmental hazards. Requires sitting, standing, walking, repetitive motions, and lifting (more than 50% of the time). Less than 50% of the time, may need to stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, or balance.
