Job summary

The Missouri Botanical Garden seeks an accomplished HR leader to guide all aspects of people, culture, compensation, safety and HR operations across multiple sites. Reporting to the President, the SVP HR will serve on the Executive Leadership Team and drive a people-first, data-informed approach aligned with the Garden’s mission.

The role demands 15+ years of HR leadership, 5+ years in an executive post, and experience with succession planning, DEI, and HR technology.

Qualifications

• Significant executive-level HR leadership with 15+ years.
• Five years in an executive role.
• Experience developing people strategies in complex, multi-site organizations; global experience preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; master's preferred; SHRM/SPHR certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR and Safety team of 12 people across the Garden.
• Develop a multi-year people strategy and annual priorities.
• Oversee compensation, benefits and recognition strategies.
• Ensure health, safety, and compliance programs across divisions.
• Partner with Finance on workforce budgeting and scenario planning.
• Represent HR on the Executive Leadership Team and with internal/external partners.
