Core Purpose

Analyst Institute is seeking a Chief Partnerships Officer to deepen and scale Analyst Institute’s relationships with critical ecosystem partners. Reporting to the Executive Director and leading the Partnerships & Community Engagement team, the Chief Partnerships Officer ensures that partners see Analyst Institute as a trusted thought partner and that our programs, research, and offerings remain responsive to the needs of the communities and organizations we serve.

Success in this role means Analyst Institute is engaged in deep, durable partnerships with leading organizations across the Democratic, progressive, and civic engagement landscape, Analyst Institute is recognized as a critical resource for understanding and applying evidence and research, and our partners use that knowledge to strengthen their strategies, improve their programs, and achieve meaningful impact.

Primary Responsibilities

Own and strengthen institutional partnerships (primary focus)

• Serve as a key source of intelligence about emerging needs, challenges, opportunities, and trends across the Democratic, progressive, and civic engagement ecosystem.
• Develop and execute Analyst Institute's strategy for engaging key ecosystem partners and allies.
• Build long-term, trust-based institutional relationships that extend beyond individual projects and create opportunities for sustained collaboration and impact.
• Position Analyst Institute as a true partner, not just a service provider.
• Prioritize high-leverage relationships and engagements that meaningfully shape strategy, adoption, funding, or implementation across the ecosystem.

Shape and strengthen partner-facing products and offerings

• Provide strategic leadership on Analyst Institute's programs and offerings, ensuring research is shared, translated, and applied in ways that drive meaningful impact.
• Ensure offerings are grounded in partner needs and easy to understand and use.
• Identify and address gaps between Analyst Institute's offerings and partners' real-world needs, and lead efforts to close those gaps.
• Bring a strong strategic and practitioner “user” perspective to product development.

External leadership and ecosystem representation

• Act as a bridge builder across the ecosystem by identifying opportunities for collaboration, convening aligned actors, and helping shape shared strategic direction.
• Represent Analyst Institute externally as a senior, credible leader with deep campaign or equivalent experience.
• Build visibility and trust through convenings, presentations, and thought leadership.
• Strengthen Analyst Institute's brand and reputation as the central learning hub for the progressive and civic engagement ecosystem.

Strategic oversight of partnerships, community engagement, and communications

• Lead Analyst Institute's Partnerships & Community Engagement team and communications function, providing strategic direction and organizational leadership across these areas.
• Set priorities, establish goals, and oversee work plans that advance Analyst Institute's partnerships, community engagement, and communications objectives.
• Manage and support senior staff responsible for partnerships, community engagement, and communications, helping build a high-performing team and strong management structures.
• Ensure alignment across relationship‑building, partner services, offerings, messaging, and organizational priorities.
• Strengthen coordination between partnerships, community engagement, and communications to maximize Analyst Institute's visibility, relevance, and impact across the ecosystem.
• Ensure insights from partners, practitioners, and the broader ecosystem are incorporated into organizational strategy, offerings, and decision‑making.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Deep experience working with campaigns, programmatic partners, donor advisors, or equivalent organizations.
• Strong instincts for partner needs and how to meet them at scale.
• Senior‑level credibility and reputation in the field.
• Experience developing and selling offerings or partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to operate externally and autonomously with strong judgment.
• Demonstrated success building, managing, and developing high‑performing teams.

Logistics

Location: Analyst Institute operates as a remote organization, with staff located across the United States. While our internal culture fully supports and integrates remote work, this position is expected to be based in the Washington, DC area to support relationship‑building and engagement with partners located there. The role will also require periodic travel for meetings, conferences, trainings, and team gatherings.

Salary: $195,000–$230,000 annually, commensurate with experience
