Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Defense / Industrial Mfg

GNR has been retained by a well-established, $100M manufacturing organization in need of a Chief Operations Officer (COO) to assist in their continued growth. The company is renowned for its products, known internationally, and is committed to expanding its portfolio. You’ll play a significant role in the company’s future growth.

Reporting directly to the President, you will manage multiple value streams across two facilities for high‑mix, low‑volume production of DEFENSE and large INDUSTRIAL products (DEFENSE manufacturing experience is required).

  • We’re looking for a “hands‑on” leader who brings a tactical & strategic vision.
  • Someone that is “forward thinking” to improve manufacturing, increase capacity planning and production efficiencies, ability to forecast needs to anticipate production requirements, current on new technologies and long‑term initiatives.
  • Be a “change agent” and define & implement continuous Improvement strategies, LEAN, SIX‑SIGMA, and improve processes & procedures.
  • Direct day‑to‑day Production Operations, Planning, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering while collaborating across other functions to ensure business objectives are met.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Solid background running product / production requirements (Assembly, Test, Compliance, Quality, Traceability, Mil‑Stds)
  • Complex Mechanical / Electro‑Mechanical DEFENSE related production OR large INDUSTRIAL product experience
  • 10+ years of leadership in a manufacturing environment & PROVEN examples of implementing change
  • Promote & Contribute to company‑wide initiatives: LEAN, SIX‑SIGMA & Continuous improvement strategies
  • Track & adjust operational metrics across multiple value streams, work closely with other disciplines to ensure deliverables are on time and in budget meeting the highest quality standards.
  • Budgetary responsibilities >$50m & recommend capital expenditures
