Job Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the organization. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, and ensuring the efficient delivery of healthcare services. The COO will work closely with the CEO and other executive team members to drive the organization towards achieving its goals and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership:
  • Oversee daily operations of all departments to ensure a smooth and efficient healthcare delivery system.
  • Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and growth.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance patient care services and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage the operating budget.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures.
  • Ensure resource allocation aligns with organizational priorities and goals.
  • Quality and Performance Improvement:
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in patient care and service delivery.
  • Implement quality improvement programs and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and drive performance enhancements.
  • Human Resources Management:
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and healthcare regulations.
  • Champion initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and care experience.
  • Address patient complaints and implement corrective actions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including patients, staff, healthcare providers, and the community.
  • Represent the organization at various professional, civic, and community events.
  • Technology and Innovation:
  • Oversee the implementation and utilization of healthcare technology and information systems.
  • Drive innovation in healthcare delivery through the adoption of new technologies and practices.
  • Special Projects – Operations
  • As VPS integrates additional practices, build the operational integration plan and coordinate with team members for success
  • Liaise with physician stakeholders at other practices to ensure provider satisfaction

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., FACHE - Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives) preferred.
