Job summary

ImpactSearch Partners seeks a Chief Operating Officer to lead the day-to-day operations of our CPA firm, partnering with firm leadership and the Firm Administrator to strengthen processes, boost operational efficiency, and support sustained growth across service lines and client engagements.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in operations or executive leadership in a professional‑services environment.
  • Experience within CPA/law/consulting firms or similar settings preferred.
  • Proven ability to improve processes and lead organizational change.
  • Strong business judgment and understanding of financial and operational performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with partners, leadership, staff, and accounting professionals.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience with practice-management systems, workflow technology, or firmwide software implementations is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the firm’s daily operations in coordination with the Firm Administrator.
  • Partner with firm leadership to develop and execute operational strategies.
  • Evaluate current processes and implement improvements that increase efficiency, accountability, and profitability.
  • Establish policies, procedures, and performance standards across the firm.
  • Support workforce planning, employee development, and firmwide communication.
  • Oversee administrative functions, technology, facilities, vendor relationships, and other operational areas.
  • Help improve workflow management, resource allocation, and coordination among departments.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance, identifying opportunities to control costs and improve margins.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of firm technology and practice‑management systems.
  • Assist with change management and the adoption of new processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership on long‑term growth initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Help define the responsibilities, goals, and long‑term direction of the COO position as the firm’s needs evolve.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer to oversee the day-to-day operations of our clients CPA firm. Working closely with firm leadership and the Firm Administrator, the COO will help strengthen internal processes, improve operational efficiency, and support the firm’s continued growth.

This is a newly created position, offering the right individual a unique opportunity to help define the role, establish priorities, and shape the firm’s operational strategy.
