Job summary

Erika’s Lighthouse in Winnetka, IL seeks a dynamic Chief of Staff to partner with the Executive Director and leadership team. This role provides HR administration, strategic marketing oversight, and manages cross‑functional projects and board governance to enable growth of a leading national nonprofit.

The ideal candidate has a passion for mental health education and extensive nonprofit leadership experience, with ability to work strategically within a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience will be more heavily considered.
• 10+ years of leadership and/or HR experience in the nonprofit sector.
• Hybrid work environment with on-site two days a week (Mon-Thu).
• Knowledge of HubSpot and Google Workspace is a plus.
• Ability to work strategically within a team structure as well as independently.

Responsibilities

• Operational Collaboration & Special Projects (50%): support cross-functional integration; execute executive initiatives; partner with the Director of Operations to streamline processes.
• Human Resources & Team Support (25%): oversee HR admin duties, onboarding, and staff development.
• Marketing Management & Support (15%): collaborate with Marketing Manager on outreach and brand campaigns; align messaging with priorities.
• Board Logistics & Administrative Support (10%): coordinate board meetings, governance items, and board communications.
