Probably Genetic is seeking a Chief of Staff in San Francisco to serve as a trusted partner to the Founder and CEO. You will own high-stakes initiatives, manage venture fundraising end-to-end, and act as a force multiplier across leadership.

The role emphasizes strategic execution, investor relations, and scalable processes in a fast-moving healthtech startup. You will prepare board materials, coordinate communications, and ensure consistent messaging while aligning with patient-focused mission

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience, with a strong foundation in management consulting and operating experience at a high-growth startup.
  • Experience supporting fundraising processes (Series A+D) and investor relations.
  • Track record operating at the intersection of strategy and execution.
  • Experience in healthtech or biotech or similarly complex industries.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high standards.
  • Demonstrable AI literacy and use of AI tools in daily workflow.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shifting priorities in dynamic settings.
  • High emotional intelligence and leadership presence with a collaborative, low-ego style.

Responsabilités

  • Lead end-to-end venture fundraising efforts including materials, data room, investor outreach, and pipeline management.
  • Coordinate between the CEO and investors; prepare board materials and updates.
  • Identify bottlenecks and build scalable processes across teams.
  • Prepare the CEO for meetings with briefs, talking points, and follow-ups.
  • Own quarterly board meetings and external communications on behalf of the CEO.
  • Draft company-wide updates and partner communications with consistent messaging.

With a Series B on the horizon and a growing portfolio of partnerships with drug developers and patient advocacy groups, we need a Chief of Staff who can operate as a true right hand to the Founder and CEO — someone who runs toward complexity, brings structure to ambiguity, and holds the highest standards of craft and detail.You will own high-stakes initiatives, manage venture fundraising end-to-end alongside the CEO, and serve as a force multiplier across the leadership team. If you have thrived in fast-moving, dynamic environments and want your work to directly improve patient outcomes, this is the role for you.WHAT YOU WILL DOVenture fundraising & existing investor relations (20%)- Own the end-to-end venture fundraising due diligence: materials, data room, investor outreach, pipeline management, and follow-through- Serve as the primary point of coordination between the CEO and prospective and existing investors- Prepare board meeting materials, manage the board cadence, and ensure follow-ups are tracked and closed- Draft investor updates, pitch narratives, and other strategic communications with precision and clarityCEO leverage, strategic though partnership & cross-functional execution (40%)- Reduce CEO time on operational overhead by 30%+ by owning recurring processes, decision tracking, and stakeholder communication- Lead cross-functional projects that span multiple teams, ensuring clarity of ownership, timelines, and outcomes- Identify bottlenecks across the organization and build scalable processes to address them before they become problems- Prepare the CEO for key meetings with background briefs, talking points, and follow-up documentationStrategic external communications (40%)- Own end to end preparation and execution for quarterly board meetings and mid-quarter check-ins- Draft external communications on behalf of the CEO, including company-wide updates, partner communications, and thought leadership via a variety of social channels- Ensure data and messaging is consistent and reflects the company's mission and values by creating a consistent framework for use by CEO and broader Leadership TeamWHO YOU AREWe are looking for a few specific things that will help you succeed in this role:- 8+ years of experience, with a strong foundation in management consulting (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or equivalent) and subsequent operating experience at a high-growth startup- Prior experience supporting or managing a fundraising process (Series A>D ideally); demonstrated understanding of investor relations and venture dynamics- Track record of operating at the intersection of strategy and execution — you are as comfortable in a boardroom as you are building a process from scratch- Experience in healthtech or biotech or track record of operating in highly complex industries- Meticulous attention to detail — you catch errors others miss and hold every output to an exceptionally high standard- Proven, demonstrable AI literacy — you actively use AI tools (beyond prompting) in your daily workflow and can lead others in doing the same- Exceptional written communication — you write with clarity, economy, and impact- Skilled at managing multiple shifting priorities without dropping the ball — you thrive in dynamic environments where the roadmap changes week to week- High emotional intelligence and leadership presence — you know when to push, when to listen, and how to build trust quickly- A collaborative, low-ego operating style — you care about outcomes, not creditAs with all new hires at Probably Genetic, you will also need to be:- A good person.
