Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer for Mercy Health – Fairfield Hospital, reporting to the Hospital President with a dotted line to the Market CNO. The role oversees nursing services and quality patient care across the facility, aligning practice with policy, budget, and strategic objectives.

The CNO will lead clinical operations, ensure staffing and workflow efficiency, and drive system-wide quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• OH RN license or eligible to transfer.
• 5+ years related experience including 3-5 years’ management/leadership.
• Experience with non-union environments; labor relations and union avoidance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead in a changing environment aligned with Strategic Plan and best practice nursing.
• 24-hour responsibility for professional nursing care and resource allocation.
• Achieve clinical outcomes, productivity, and adherence to standards.
• Implement quality improvement plans with measurable monitoring.
• Cultivate a culture of nursing leadership excellence and professional practice.
• Manage budgets with cost reductions and revenue enhancements.
• Develop staffing plans and ensure safe staffing across nursing areas.
