Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation seeks a transformative Chief Nursing Officer to lead nursing across our inpatient rehabilitation network. You will shape clinical strategy, uphold high-quality care, and mentor senior leadership while aligning with organizational goals.

The role emphasizes collaboration, policy development, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on staffing, budget oversight, and patient-centered outcomes across 150+ locations.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in state regulations.
• BSN or higher in Nursing or related field.
• Five years of inpatient hospital experience.
• Two years of nursing management with 24-hour accountability and budget oversight.
• BLScertification (ACLS preferred).
• Commitment to obtaining CRRN within a year of eligibility.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and therapeutic teams to foster a patient-focused, team-oriented culture.
• Develop care programs, policies, and procedures ensuring nursing care quality and service delivery.
• Represent nursing on committees (Governing Body, Quality Council, Med Exec, Infection Control, Ethics) and drive standards.
• Support diversity and maintain an inclusive, respectful work environment.
• Lead operational excellence by meeting Joint Commission/CMS standards and budgeting targets.
• Celebrate staff and patient achievements while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• PossessacurrentRNlicensureasrequiredbystate regulations.

• PossessaBachelor'sDegreeinNursingorarelatedfield,unlessahigherdegreeismandatedby state regulations.


• Advanced Degree, plan to receive an advanced degree, or knowledge and skills associated with an advanced degree required unless otherwise specified by state regulation.


• Fiveyearsofexperienceinaninpatienthospitalsetting.


• Two years of recent (within the last 5 years) Nursing Management experience, with responsibilitiesincluding24-houraccountability,FTEmanagement,policy,procedure,and budgetary oversight, as well as conducting disciplinary action.


• Mayberequiredtoworkweekdaysand/orweekends,eveningsand/ornightshifts.


• Mayberequiredtoworkonreligiousand/orlegalholidaysonscheduleddays/shifts.
