The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC Health) seeks a Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) to lead strategy, governance, and optimization of nursing-focused clinical informatics and digital technologies across its integrated health system.
As the dyad partner to the CMIO, the CNIO will shape EHR design, adoption, and continuous improvement of Epic and related tools, aligning clinical operations with academic missions and interprofessional care.
The Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) is the senior nursing executive responsible for the strategy, governance, and optimization of clinical information systems and digital technologies that support nursing practice and interprofessional care across MUSC Health, South Carolina's only comprehensive academic health system. Serving as the dyad partner to the Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO), the CNIO ensures the voice of nursing shapes the design, adoption, and continuous improvement of the Epic electronic health record and related technologies across MUSC Health's 16 hospitals, 750+ care locations, and statewide telehealth network. The CNIO bridges clinical operations, information solutions, and academic missions — partnering with the Chief Nurse Executive, CMIO, Chief Information Officer, and the MUSC College of Nursing to advance safe, efficient, evidence-based, technology-enabled care.
