Job summary

CloseKnit, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization in the DMV region, seeks a Chief Medical Officer to unite standards, workflows and culture across 40+ clinics. The CMO will guide care quality, safety and clinical governance while partnering with the executive team on compensation, strategy and population health initiatives.

The role requires a physician leader with an active medical license, board certification in primary care, and a track record of steering multi-site ambulatory

Qualifications

• MD or DO with active medical license in respective jurisdictions.
• Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine or related primary care specialty.
• Minimum 10 years of clinical practice and 5–10 years of progressive physician leadership or executive experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise clinical leadership for care quality, safety, provider performance and governance.
• Lead strategy for value-based care, population health, and workforce planning across multiple sites.
• Oversee clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with HR, Compliance, Risk and Legal on provider performance and regulatory issues.
• Drive integration of clinical standards, documentation workflows, and clinical decision support across platforms.
