Job summary

Kewa Pueblo Health Corporation (KPHC) seeks a Chief Medical Officer to lead clinical services across its multi-disciplinary health system located at Santo Domingo Pueblo, NM. The CMO will balance executive leadership with ongoing clinical practice, guiding strategy while staying connected with patients and providers.

Responsibilities include overseeing departments, advancing quality and accreditation, recruiting and mentoring staff, and engaging with tribal partners and the community to deliver

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Current, unrestricted medical license in the United States; NM licensure obtainable after hire.
• Board Certification or Board eligibility; CPR and/or ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive clinical leadership for all medical services and oversee multiple departments including nursing, behavioral health, pharmacy, and others.
• Maintain a patient panel and provide direct patient care approximately 1–1.5 days per week to stay clinically connected with the community.
• Develop and execute long-term clinical strategies and align services with organizational goals.
• Lead recruitment, mentorship, and development of clinical staff, fostering a high-performing team culture.
• Prepare for and participate in AAAHC accreditation processes and manage credentialing.
• Engage with the Board, Health Board, tribal entities, and community stakeholders to advance the mission and sustainability of KPHC.
