Job summary

Core Physicians, a physician-led, multi-specialty medical group affiliated with Exeter Health Resources and Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH), seeks a Chief Medical Officer to provide executive leadership across the organization and maintain an active clinical practice.

The CMO will partner with senior leaders to advance clinical quality, patient safety, value-based care, and organizational growth while fostering physician engagement and a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Board Certification and NH medical licensure (or eligibility).
• Minimum of five years of progressive physician leadership experience.
• Leadership experience within a medical group, community hospital, or integrated health system.
• Demonstrated success in physician engagement, quality improvement, operational leadership, and strategic growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for clinical quality, patient safety, patient experience, and physician performance.
• Lead physician recruitment, engagement, retention, and leadership development.
• Drive clinical strategy, practice growth, and service line development across primary and specialty care.
• Partner with executive leadership to advance value-based care, population health, and operational excellence.
• Oversee physician performance, quality improvement, peer review, and clinical governance.
• Collaborate with Beth Israel Lahey Health leadership to align local initiatives with system-wide priorities.

Position Summary

Reporting to the President of Core Physicians, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) serves as the senior physician executive responsible for clinical, operational, and strategic leadership across the organization. The CMO partners with Core Physicians, Exeter Hospital, and Beth Israel Lahey Health leadership to advance clinical quality, physician engagement, patient safety, value-based care, and organizational growth while maintaining an active clinical practice.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Board Certification and New Hampshire medical licensure (or eligibility)
