• Lead Quality Improvement and Clinical Performance programs and committees.
• Drive value-based care initiatives, preventive care, and population health.
• Oversee credentialing, privileging, peer review, and clinical governance.

About the Opportunity

Search Station is recruiting on behalf of a confidential client, a healthcare organization in Monterey Park, California seeking a Chief Medical Officer to serve as the senior physician executive leading all clinical services across the organization. This role provides strategic direction, ensures high-quality patient care, drives clinical excellence, and oversees medical staff and clinical operations across medical, dental, behavioral health, optometry, chiropractic, and additional service lines, working closely with executive leadership to advance organizational goals.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Active, unrestricted medical license, or ability to obtain before start
• Board Certification in a recognized medical specialty
• Minimum 8 years of progressive clinical leadership experience
• Demonstrated success in quality improvement, clinical operations, and provider engagement
• Strong cultural competency and commitment to equitable care

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in community health, safety-net healthcare, or integrated delivery systems
• Familiarity with HRSA compliance, FTCA, PCMH, and value-based care models
• Bilingual proficiency (Mandarin/Cantonese) strongly preferred given the community served, though not a strict requirement

Scope of Work

Executive & Strategic Leadership

• Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to organizational strategy, growth, and long-term planning
• Develop clinical strategies aligned with mission, vision, and strategic priorities
• Evaluate opportunities for new clinical programs and service expansion
• Represent clinical leadership in executive decision-making and present clinical performance to leadership bodies

Clinical Leadership & Practice

• Provide executive oversight for all clinical departments including medical, dental, behavioral health, optometry, and chiropractic
• Establish evidence-based standards of care and promote integrated, team-based, patient-centered care
• Maintain a patient panel and provide direct patient care as appropriate, balancing clinical and administrative responsibilities

Quality, Patient Safety & Population Health

• Lead Quality Improvement and Clinical Performance programs, chairing the Quality Improvement Committee
• Drive initiatives in value-based care, preventive care, chronic disease management, and population health

Medical Staff Leadership & Credentialing

• Provide leadership for all providers, including coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations
• Oversee credentialing, privileging, peer review, and clinical governance

Regulatory Compliance & Workforce Development

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, leading regulatory readiness for audits and accreditation
• Support workforce planning, provider recruitment, and professional growth across clinical teams
