Job description

We are seeking a visionary and collaborative Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to serve as a key member of our executive leadership team. This role is responsible for advancing clinical excellence, strengthening provider engagement, and driving high quality, patient centered care across the organization. The CMO will play a critical role in shaping clinical strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
  • Provide visible, day to day supervision and leadership for the medical team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Provide patient centered healthcare and appropriate patient follow up and care planning and models compassion, medical expertise, quality, and respect for patients and colleagues.
  • Provide leadership and accountability to all medical providers, ensuring adherence to evidence based practices and clinical standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality on performance improvement projects and initiatives, ensuring clinical outcome goals are in line with local, state and national benchmark standards (HEDIS, UDS, etc.).
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to optimise clinic workflows, access to care and provider efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and enforce provider productivity, documentation and quality expectations.
  • Supervises and participates in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical meetings.
  • Ensures clinical policies and protocols are up to date.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand services, improve care delivery and strengthen community impact.
  • Directs staff outreach and off-site health care programs in the health center service area.
  • Supervises students in training at the health center clinic.
  • Serves as the Center's professional training and education director.
  • Arranges referrals for patients requiring services not offered at the health center.
  • Reviews incoming reports (e.g. lab, X-ray, EKG) sign, date, and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Complies with the health center infection control plan which includes personally utilizing universal precautions. Ensure compliance by medical and support staff.
  • Conducts all outside medical public relations functions.
  • Functions as Medical Laboratory Director.
  • Maintains professional, organizational, and administrative responsibility for the quality of all medical pharmaceutical services provided by the organization.
  • Participates in all safety programs, which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
  • Regular, predictable onsite attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the State of Florida.
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a clinical leadership role, preferably within an FQHC setting.
