GRW Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Chief Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of building systems from planning through execution at our Lexington, KY headquarters.

The candidate will collaborate with architectural, electrical, and structural teams, oversee a team of engineers and designers, and drive project budgets, schedules, and client relations while advancing sustainable design practices and LEED considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE certification in at least one US state and KY registration within 6 months.
• 10–20 years designing mechanical building systems in consulting.
• Advanced knowledge of plumbing, fire protection, HVAC and controls.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Revit.
• Strong English communication and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage staff and projects within budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical building systems design for diverse projects.
• Coordinate with architectural, electrical and structural teams.
• Oversee staff and mentor engineers and designers.
• Plan resources, schedules and budgets; ensure on-time delivery.
• Apply life cycle costing, HVAC modelling and simulations as needed.
• Drive client relations, marketing and business development.
