McKibbon Hospitality is seeking an experienced Chief Maintenance Engineering Manager for a Savannah, GA property. You will lead the maintenance team, manage budgets, and ensure facility reliability for guest comfort and asset protection.

Responsibilities include monitoring operations, coordinating repairs, coaching staff, and ensuring safety standards. A strong background in hotel maintenance and leadership is required, with rental or relocation flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3 years minimum experience in a lead maintenance role.
  • Previous hotel maintenance experience highly desired.
  • CPO certification required for pool/spa operations.
  • Ability to train and coach maintenance staff.
  • Knowledge of NFPA-72 fire and life safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain operations of interior and exterior hotel areas.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding and ongoing coaching of maintenance staff.

Area Manager:Tempo by Hilton Savannah Historic DistrictHoliday Inn Express Historic DistrictHampton Inn Savannah Historic DistrictThe Chief Maintenance Engineering Manager is a key member of the property management team, responsible for ensuring the hotel is properly maintained and that the maintenance team adheres to all brand and McKibbon standards. This role oversees the repair and upkeep of the hotel’s physical infrastructure, including (but not limited to) plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool systems, fire and life safety equipment, and general facilities. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Chief Maintenance Engineer Manager plays a vital role in maintaining the property at the highest quality standards, ensuring a worry-free experience for guests and protecting the asset for ownership. This position embodies McKibbon’s Guiding Principles through consistent leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence.A Day in the LifeChief Maintenance Engineering Manager will be working autonomously in some instances, without constant supervision.You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operations and functions of both the interior and exterior areas of the property.Perform any necessary construction trades, like plumbing, electrical, carpentry, basic heating and air conditioning, pool maintenance, painting, caulking, etc.Maintenance Engineer Manager will not be expected to be an expert in all trades but will be expected to be proficient enough to do a good job and to train others in the engineering department.Beside the trade skills, you will need to possess certain people skills that will allow them to be proactive and interactive with other associates and guests of the hotel.Play a key role in communicating and interacting positively with associates and guests.Adhere to guidelines established by McKibbon Hospitality to ensure the safety of associates and guests, while protecting company assets.Capable of reading, understanding, and preparing both operational and capital budgets.Maintenance Engineer Manager will be responsible for planning, delegating, and managing the work of one or more team members. Team size is based on property size and complexities.Lead the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing coaching of maintenance team members with the support of the AGM and GM.RequirementsAbility to monitor performance of service/contractor to ensure that contracted service is performed satisfactorily. Effectively maintain the physical plant while meeting Guests’ needs within the defined operations budget.Ability to communicate operational activities, priorities and problems with hotel leadership.Possess knowledge or methods and techniques for conducting on-the-job training.Create a learning environment encouraging employees to further develop their job skills.Observe employees’ work performance for comparison with performance standards.Ability to determine what action should be taken in response to a customer complaint, comment or inquiry.Negotiate with service company/contractor to obtain the best price for services.Ability to estimate the time (labor) required to complete maintenance work.Ability to determine the best time scheduling maintenance jobs to avoid disrupting operation of the hotel.Proactively discern operational and maintenance concerns, then address to eliminate downtime and avoid disaster.Knowledge of problem-solving techniques and methods.Knowledge of common causes of equipment malfunction.Ability to use Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, as well as utilize a maintenance management system to initiate, perform, and report on service orders and PMs.Able to perform basic painting and caulking skills.Ability to use standard hand tools, such as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, electricity measurements.Knowledge of preventive maintenance methods and techniques for maintaining equipment.Ability to perform tests to check for normal operation of hotel’s equipment.Ability to perform Basic Maintenance Skills.
