Job summary

TOTE Services is seeking a Chief Inspector to lead a multi-disciplinary team at Marinette Marine, ensuring quality and adherence to contract requirements across vessel construction. The role demands strong shipbuilding expertise, ABS knowledge, and a focus on safety and schedule integrity.

The successful candidate will oversee inspections, guide a team of inspectors and SMEs, and coordinate with government stakeholders to deliver high‑quality results for the LSM program.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in new construction shipbuilding.
• Vessel operational experience preferred.
• Proficient in shipbuilding best‑practices, techniques, and production planning.
• Broad marine technical knowledge with understanding of marine engineering concepts.
• Ability to read and comprehend government contract documents.
• Significant experience with ABS or major marine Classification Societies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety culture and adhere to safety guidelines during daily inspection activities.
• Lead safety meetings and communicate safety issues to the shipyard.
• Supervise inspectors and subject matter experts to verify quality and contract compliance.
• Validate proposed design changes and assist with technical issues.
• Develop and execute a robust Test and Inspection Plan for production oversight.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies including ABS as primary liaison.
• Evaluate progress against published schedules and report status to PM and Government.
• Maintain detailed records of inspection reports and key documents.
