JOB TYPE: Full Time for 7+ months. Expect overtime - the schedule will likely be 6 days a week at 10 hours a day.

COMPENSATION: $30+/hr., $250 per diem, Guaranteed plus job-related mileage

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a project-based position requiring thorough knowledge of construction activities, means, and methods to ensure projects are completed according to standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits, and schedules. Ideal candidates are self-starters, motivated to provide excellent customer service, high quality, and thrive in demanding environments. Candidates should be highly detailed, organized team players with success in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities include (not exhaustive and may vary by location): As Assistant Chief Inspector, you may need to replace the Chief Inspector during their absence. You will oversee a minimum of 5 inspectors.

Production and Schedule:

Support planning and organization of all construction activities including inspection, survey, NDE services, materials availability, tie-ins, service disruptions, commissioning, and start-up.
Coordinate daily with the Project Manager, CSG personnel, Contractors, Manufacturer Representatives, ROW Representatives, Environmental Inspectors, and regulatory agencies if required.
Review scope of work with inspection team members and assign activities based on qualifications.
Prioritize on-site locations presenting the greatest challenges during construction.

Quality:

Supervise all phases of field quality control and inspection staff, acting as the primary interface with Contractors and Inspection team to ensure compliance with specifications and project requirements.
Ensure inspectors have proper materials and equipment.
Discuss, approve, and document design changes or material substitutions with the Project Manager before proceeding.

Cost Control:

Track daily construction costs, verifying hours, quantities, materials, labor, and equipment used.
Ensure Contractor has necessary Change authorizations before extra work.
Document progress and work quality issues, aiding in correction of non-conformances and Contractor claims. Report non-conformances to the Project Manager.

Compensation details: $30/hr. to $30/hr.
