Job description

Our client is looking for an accomplished technology executive to lead information security initiatives, strengthen cyber risk controls, and oversee the protection of critical systems within a purpose-driven, highly technical organization. This opportunity is ideal for a cleared cybersecurity professional who can bridge regulatory requirements with practical IT administration and secure system design. The role provides broad exposure across compliance, classified systems, vulnerability management, authorization activities, and infrastructure security, along with strong organizational stability and opportunities to expand technical expertise.

This position is on-site in Camas, WA, five days per week initially. An active U.S. government security clearance at the Secret level or above is required for consideration.

This Role Offers
  • Broad cybersecurity exposure spanning compliance, systems administration, vulnerability management, auditing, and classified information systems.
  • Long-term career stability within an established organization supporting multiple defense-related programs rather than employment dependent upon a single contract.
  • Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, with potential flexibility for highly qualified candidates.
  • Potential relocation assistance or other one-time compensation support depending on candidate circumstances.
Focus
  • Oversee the ongoing protection and security administration of designated classified and compliance-sensitive systems, maintaining adherence to required cybersecurity standards and controls.
  • Translate government and cybersecurity compliance requirements into practical system configurations, administrative controls, and technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain authorization documentation, assess security impacts of system changes, and support ongoing RMF and compliance activities.
  • Conduct system audits, vulnerability assessments, continuous monitoring, log reviews, and security control validation, coordinating remediation when needed.
  • Administer and secure Windows-based systems, networks, identity services, endpoint protections, and related infrastructure.
  • Maintain system security through patching, malware protection, configuration management, recovery procedures, and other operational safeguards.
  • Develop and support incident response, contingency, inspection, and security procedures for controlled technical environments.
  • Partner with security leadership, technical teams, and employees to strengthen compliance, deliver security guidance, and maintain accurate security records.
Skill Set
  • Strong cybersecurity compliance knowledge paired with hands-on IT systems administration experience, including the ability to turn compliance requirements into technical solutions.
  • Must possess a current U.S. government security clearance at the Secret level or above; candidates with Top Secret credentials are preferred, particularly those holding TS/SCI access.
  • CompTIA Security+ is strongly preferred at hire. Candidates without it must be prepared to obtain the required certification within approximately 90 days.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is expected for the labor category, although substantial directly related professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience administering Windows environments and working with networking, Active Directory, centralized logging, vulnerability scanning, endpoint security, and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated background supporting information assurance programs, including authorization activities, compliance assessments, risk remediation, vulnerability oversight, and preparation of system security records.
  • Direct DoD, government, or cybersecurity experience is preferred, particularly experience involving RMF, CMMC, NIST guidance, or classified environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and security teams.
