Job summary

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of progressively responsible experience in public affairs, advocacy, and/or government relations.
• Experience in animal health, agriculture, life sciences, or healthcare sectors is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead advocacy campaigns and regulatory strategies at multiple levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coordinate the work of AHI’s Government and Regulatory Affairs Division.
• Foster collaboration across policy, advocacy, and member engagement priorities.
• Lead team to achieve BOD metrics evaluating government and regulatory affairs impact.
• Coordinate with PAG to align member priorities with policy strategy and leadership.
• Advise CEO on emerging policy issues, crisis responses, and industry positioning.
• Strengthen relationships with Congress, USDA, FDA/CVM, APHIS, EPA, CDC and regulators.
• Guide coalition strategies with member companies and peer associations.
• Position AHI effectively in legislative and regulatory discussions.
