Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic finance leader and active member of the Senior Leadership team.
  • Lead the development of financial objectives.
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead the development and evaluation of short- and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Direct the development and implementation of cost-effective financial reporting and accounting activities.
  • Formulate effective financial oversight and internal accounting standards compliant with regulations.
  • Contribute to achievement of business objectives through timely identification of accounting issues/opportunities.
  • Direct the monthly reporting process and deliver accurate monthly reports using MIS tools.
  • Manage and direct the expense and general ledger process.
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure alignment with objectives and policies.
  • Drive innovation, including automation opportunities and process improvements.
  • Develop reports and coach direct/indirect reports; discuss career aspirations.
  • Respond to corporate accounting/reporting requirements.
  • Ensure internal controls and compliance with GAAP and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic finance/operations leader and active member of the Senior Leadership team.
  • Partner with the President to accelerate execution, optimize outcomes, and reduce costs.
  • Provide executive management with advice and analysis on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Lead the development and continuous evaluation of short- and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Direct the development and implementation of cost-effective financial reporting and accounting activities.
  • Formulate effective financial oversight and internal accounting standards that comply with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the achievement of business objectives through accurate and timely identification and resolution of accounting issues/opportunities.
  • Direct the monthly reporting process and deliver accurate/timely monthly reports through effective utilization of all management information tools.
  • Manage and direct the expense and general ledger process.
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure expenses align with company objectives and policies.
  • Drive innovation, including automation opportunities and new ways to streamline processes.
  • Develop direct and indirect reports in both behavioral and job skills, including regular career aspiration discussions.
  • Respond to all corporate accounting/reporting requirements.
  • Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Property & Casualty Insurance experience required, including statutory and GAAP insurance reporting.
  • PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and a strong working knowledge of financial systems, preferably Oracle and Peoplesoft; Excel is preferred.
  • Financial reporting and planning experience; expense management skills; expert financial analysis, reporting, and accounting skills.
  • Familiarity with direct and agency billing.
  • Ability to recognize and act on reporting/accounting issues and problems.
  • Takes intelligent risks and exercises solid business judgment.
  • Proven leader who drives engagement and enables employees; will manage 3 direct reports.
  • Solid understanding of business objectives to drive bottom-line results; acts decisively.
  • Strong strategic thinker and decision-maker; consistently sets clear direction and builds trust through personal integrity.
  • Establishes and maintains an environment encouraging actions in the best interest of the company.
  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills; drafts clear, concise, professional communications.
  • Interacts with all organization levels and demonstrates organizational skills while managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance.
  • MBA and/or CPA desirable.
