Eugene School District 4J has partnered with Human Capital Enterprises in the search for our next Chief Financial Officer.

Serving nearly 14,000 students, Eugene School District 4J offers neighborhood and alternative schools, language immersion programs, International Baccalaureate programs, and a community that places a high value on public education. The District is seeking an accomplished financial leader to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer, a key member of the Superintendent’s leadership team. Joining the District at an important time, the new CFO will bring financial expertise, strategic perspective, and collaborative leadership to work that matters deeply to students, staff, families, and the Eugene community.

The Chief Financial Officer provides strategic leadership for the District’s financial and business operations, with responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, and managing financial services to ensure fiscal integrity, operational effectiveness, and long-term financial well-being. The CFO oversees financial planning and forecasting, budgeting, accounting and financial reporting, procurement, internal controls, audit and compliance, and other areas of financial management.

Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the CFO works closely with the Board of Directors, executive leadership team, Budget Committee, and other District leaders. The CFO serves as a trusted financial advisor, helping leaders understand complex financial issues and the fiscal implications of decisions and policies. A central responsibility will be aligning financial resources and long‑range planning with the District’s educational goals and strategic priorities while maintaining transparency and sound stewardship of public resources.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical financial expertise and the ability to lead in a large, complex organization. Eugene 4J is looking for a CFO who can think strategically, communicate financial information clearly to a variety of audiences, exercise sound judgment, and build productive relationships across the organization and community. The CFO will also lead and develop a high‑performing Financial Services team and advance modern, effective systems and processes with a commitment to excellent service and continuous improvement.
