Job summary

The Child and Family Guidance Center in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a full-time Chief Financial Officer to set financial policy and drive the organization’s strategy. The CFO will lead all financial administration, budgeting, and IT, aligning operations with the mission and values.

Responsibilities include partnering with the CEO and Board, providing financial analysis and projections, overseeing budgeting and reporting, ensuring GAAP compliance, and coordinating audits and grant compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus.

If you would like to be a part of our team and make real difference in people's lives. The Child and Family Guidance Center is currently seeking a full timeThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will set The Child & Family Guidance Center's (CFGC) financial policy and direction while also being an active participant in, and driver of, the organization's overall strategy. They will lead all financial administration, business planning, and budgeting. The CFO will lead CFGC's finance and information technology (IT) staff. They will understand and support the organizations mission and live its values.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Essential Functions

• Partners with the President/CEO on all operational and strategic issues as they arise.
• Provide strategic recommendations to the President/CEO and Board of Directors based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
• Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the senior management team.
• Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with CFGC's strategic plan.
• Engage the board's finance committee around issues, trends, and changes in the operating model and operational delivery.
• Oversee budgeting, and the implementation of budgets, to monitor progress and present operational metrics both internally and externally.
• Ensure that finance staff maintain financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and monitor the use of all funds.
• Oversee the preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics for funding organizations and CFGC's board of directors; prepare and communicate monthly and annual financial statements.
• Oversee facility administration and security, ensuring the organization's facilities are safe, secure, properly maintained, and effectively managed.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting; direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
• Coordinate all audit activities.
• Review all formal finance procedures, processes, and administration, recommending improvements to the systems in place and managing the systems going forward.
• Ensure that there are adequate controls in place for assuring achievement of CFGC's financial objectives in operational effectiveness and efficiency, reliable reporting, and compliance with laws, regulations and policies.
• Oversee the finance and grant compliance functions, planning and budgeting, financial controls, and compliance with DCF and other grantors' rules and regulations, and reporting.
• Develop budgets and other required financial documents for grant applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required, and MBA is a plus.
• A seasoned and mature leader with at least 5 years of broad finance experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.

• Nonprofit experience as an employee or board member is preferred.
