Caritas Family Solutions in Belleville, Illinois, seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead our finance operations and support the Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO guides budgeting, grants management, audits, and long-term financial planning to ensure mission-driven growth and sustainability.

The role requires seven to ten years of nonprofit finance leadership, GAAP expertise, and strong communication with the Board.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Seven to ten years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within a nonprofit or other mission-driven organization.
Demonstrated success leading complex budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, and compliance functions.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
Experience managing diverse funding streams, grants, and contracts.
Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
Serve as Secretary/Treasurer for supporting boards in accordance with bylaws.

Caritas Family Solutions is a $62 million nonprofit organization serving communities across Southern Illinois through 22 diverse programs supported by multiple federal, state, local, and private funding streams. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO serves as the organization's senior financial leader, providing strategic oversight of all financial operations while partnering with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to ensure long-term financial sustainability.

What You'll Do

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will:

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
