Job summary

Corporate Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) seeks a Chief External Affairs Officer to guide external voice, policy strategy, and philanthropic growth. You will lead three pillars—Communications, Government Affairs, and Development—report to the CEO, and work with ELT and Boards to shape strategy and impact.

The CEAO will build and lead a high-performing team, advance CEBA’s brand as the preeminent energy buyer voice, and grow partnerships with member companies and donors while navigating federal

Qualifications

  • At least 20+ years of progressively senior experience across communications, branding, fundraising and government affairs.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Direct federal or comparable policy-driving experience in energy, climate or related sectors.
  • Credible, bipartisan leadership with experience engaging senior stakeholders and boards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication at executive level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead three pillars—Communications, Government Affairs, and Development—and manage related senior teams.
  • Represent CEBA to Boards, member companies, policymakers, and the press with strategic external voice.
