Job summary

YWCA Clark County is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer to guide the organization’s mission, equity work, and community impact. You will work with the Board, senior leaders, donors, and partners to advance strategy, ensure financial sustainability, and strengthen organizational culture.

Responsibilities include strategic leadership, fundraising, capital campaign oversight, and advocacy on racial equity and survivor-centered services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Public Administration, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of high-level management experience in nonprofit leadership.
• Experience overseeing complex nonprofit operations with multiple funding streams and budgets above $3 million.
• Working knowledge of nonprofit leadership, DEIA, trauma-informed practices, and policy impact on marginalized populations.
• Proven ability to drive strategic vision, governance, fundraising, and organizational advancement.

ABOUT YWCA CLARK COUNTY

YWCA Clark County has served the community for more than 100 years, with programs focused on improving the daily lives of adults, children, and families; preventing violence in the home and community; and eliminating oppression wherever it is found.

Today, YWCA Clark County serves more than 12,000 individuals each year, including victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse, as well as preschool children in its therapeutic school.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the chief leader of YWCA Clark County, advancing the organization’s mission, vision, core values, and strategic priorities while preserving and strengthening its highly valued organizational culture.

The CEO will provide strategic, relationship-centered leadership that inspires trust, advances racial equity and social justice, cultivates philanthropic support, and positions YWCA Clark County as a leading voice for survivors, families, and underserved communities throughout Clark County.

Working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, community partners, donors, and public officials, the CEO will lead the organization through thoughtful innovation, operational excellence, financial sustainability, and community impact.

Reports to: Board President, on behalf of the Board of Directors

Supervises: Chief Operating Officer, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Vice President of Marketing & Communications, Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Assistant

• Lead organizational vision, long-term strategy, innovation, and organizational advancement.
• Balance strategic vision with strong day-to-day executive leadership and sound decision-making.
• Lead organizational growth and change through collaboration, transparency, relationship building, and accountability.

Racial Equity & Social Justice

• Demonstrate a deep commitment to eliminating racism, empowering women, and advancing social justice.
• Embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility into strategy, operations, policies, workplace culture, partnerships, advocacy, and accountability.
• Champion YWCA Clark County’s Equity Goals and Racial Equity Policy.
• Partner with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Board to ensure a diversified fund development strategy and organization-wide culture of philanthropy.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors.
• Expand sustainable revenue through major gifts, grants, foundations, government funding, corporations, and individual philanthropy.
• Build and strengthen long-term relationships with philanthropic partners.
• Help oversee the successful completion of the Empowerment Campus.
• Lead private fundraising efforts in partnership with the Board and Capital Campaign Committee.
• Secure transformational philanthropic investments and help achieve campaign goals.

Organizational Culture & People Leadership

• Lead, supervise, and develop the executive leadership team.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, accountable, and psychologically safe workplace.
• Promote employee engagement, wellness, work-life balance, leadership development, and succession planning.

Community Engagement, Communications & Advocacy

• Serve as YWCA Clark County’s trusted public voice, ambassador, and primary media spokesperson.
• Strengthen relationships with community organizations, donors, public officials, partners, and communities of color.
• Advance advocacy and public policy efforts supporting racial equity, gender equity, housing stability, survivor-centered services, and economic justice.
• Strengthen organizational visibility and communicate YWCA Clark County’s mission and impact authentically and compellingly.
• Build a strong and transparent partnership with the Board of Directors.
• Provide proactive communication, strategic guidance, shared accountability, and regular reporting.
• Support effective Board engagement, planning, recruitment, orientation, and development.
• Partner with the CFO and Finance Committee to ensure responsible financial management.
• Guide annual budgeting and financial oversight.
• Develop long-term financial strategies that diversify revenue, strengthen sustainability, and position YWCA Clark County for continued growth and impact.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of high-level management experience with extensive understanding of nonprofit leadership in domestic violence, housing/homeless services, or related social service organizations.
• Experience overseeing complex nonprofit operations, organizational budgets exceeding $3 million, multiple funding streams, and senior leadership teams.
• Working knowledge of nonprofit leadership, DEIA, trauma-informed practices, and state and national policies impacting marginalized populations.
• Experience leading a complex organization with depth in Board relations and visionary leadership.
• Proven ability to implement new programs and initiatives and lead organizational advancement.
