Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance.

  • Cultivate relationships with Medical Staff and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure operations comply with board authority and applicable laws.
  • Provide leadership for programs, sites, and departments, communicating goals and directives.
  • Ensure staff qualifications and competencies; recommend staffing levels.
  • Oversee performance improvement and patient safety initiatives; adjust priorities as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the Board.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

Reporting to the JHS Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the Board and other management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies

GENERAL PURPOSE AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
  2. Engage in the development of the corporation's programs and short-term and long-term planning.
  3. Cultivate relationships and collaborate with Medical Staff members and those concerned with the rendering of professional services, to ensure continued high-quality patient care.
  4. Ensure the organization is operated according to the authority conferred by the Board of Directors and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  5. Ensure the organization's programs, services, sites, and departments have effective leadership and the goals and directives of the organization are effectively communicated.
  6. Ensure those staff providing care, treatment, or services have the required qualifications and competencies and recommend a sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide such care, treatment or services.
  7. Ensure the organization's performance improvement and integrated patient safety program is implemented and has established priorities and the organization measures, assesses, and adjusts priorities in response to unusual or urgent events.
  8. Performs such other duties, as the governing board(s) may deem necessary.

  8. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentation on controversial or complex topics to the Board and outside parties.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Training Experience:

Bachelors and/or MA degree (BS, BA, MA); or ten to fifteen years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Verbal and Written Communication Skills:

Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing, must be able to communicate clearly and in a controlled manner to the media and to employees

Interpersonal Skills:

Relates cooperatively and constructively in all interaction during daily activities.

Essential Technical/Motor Skills:

Needs functional PC skills

Essential Mental Abilities:

Knowledgeable and competent to perform essential functions. Must be able to deal with a variety of personalities with whom the employee comes into contact with, both pleasant and irate.

Essential Sensory Requirements:

Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Moderate to high amount of walking, standing, sitting, reaching, pulling, pushing, stooping, and kneeling. Minimum lifting requirement of 50 pounds.

Exposure to Hazards:

Exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, and chemical products.

Other:

Assumes responsibility for professional growth and expertise.
