The Opportunity

Coquille Valley Hospital, a Critical Access Hospital located in Coquille, Oregon, is seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization through its next phase of growth and innovation. The Position

The Chief Executive officer is responsible for the overall day to day hospital operations of Coquille Valley Hospital as well as the strategic leadership, planning, development, direction, coordination and control of activity within patient care, clinical and clinical support service areas. Works collaboratively with leaders and staff to ensure that quality patient care is delivered in a cost-effective manner. Plans and directs the short and long range objectives/goals of the company to meet its financial and non-financial goals. Ensures synergy between people, processes, and strategies to execute business objectives/goals. Attracts, trains, develops, and retains talent to ensure business needs are met. Drives and builds revenue growth through developing new business strategies to improve overall performance. Communicates key information to respective stakeholders. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and policies.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, MBA or Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • Significant hospital managerial experience- 5-10 Years of CEO experience preferred. CEO experience in a Critical Access Hospital environment highly preferred.
  • Record of success in quality outcomes, physician relations, finance, planning and marketing of hospital programs and services.
  • Keen focus on daily operational excellence in complex and competitive markets.
  • Strong work ethic, high integrity, outstanding interpersonal skills.
The Organization

Coquille Valley Hospital is a $47M net revenue Critical Access Hospital located in Coquille, OR. The 51,000-square-foot facility was built in 2012. Bond-funded and 100% union-built, the three-story community hospital has 16 beds and 9,000-square-feet of covered parking. As a critical access facility, the hospital offers a broad range of health services for the people of Coquille, Myrtle Point, Powers, Bridge and Fairview, and its state-of-the-art hospital benefits many who visit and live in the Coquille River Valley. The Coquille Valley Hospital District is a tax-exempt, 501.C.3, municipal corporation, organized as a political subdivision (health district) under Oregon state statutes (ORS Chapter 440). This makes the hospital district both a public/governmental entity and non-profit corporation. It is owned by the people who live within the district’s geographic boundaries, principally within the City of Coquille, Oregon.

The Location

Visit the charming City of Coquille and fall in love with the natural beauty that surrounds it. Located in Coos County on the Southern Oregon coast, bounded by the Coquille River to the south and the beginnings of the Coast Range to the east and north, the City of Coquille sits in the beautiful Coquille Valley. The Pacific Ocean just twenty miles downstream has a moderating effect on the climate and the City is much warmer and less windy in the summer than neighboring cities of Coos Bay and Bandon. With direct access to the river, it’s no surprise the city’s residents engage in fishing, hiking, biking and camping and hunting. Enjoy the scenery while visiting one of the locally owned family restaurants, mom and pop shops, or the Coquille Valley Museum. Some of Oregon’s best beaches are just 20 minutes away. Cities near Coquille are Myrtle Point, Coos Bay, Bandon and North Bend.
