Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Chief Enterprise Architect to lead the Technology & AI function, defining the enterprise architecture vision and roadmap across business, data, and platforms. You will drive modernization, governance, and architecture-led decision making to deliver AI-enabled capabilities that align with business strategy.

Reporting to the Chief Technology & AI Officer, you will partner with senior leaders to translate strategy into capability maps and ensure secure, scalable AI architecture

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in end-to-end business and technology capability architecture with embedded security/privacy/AI.
• Leadership experience in managing high performing global teams.
• Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Data-driven decision making with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication to engage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise target architecture aligned to AXA XL’s business strategy.
• Lead multi-year architecture roadmaps across business, data, application, and infrastructure domains.
• Ensure architectural decisions support growth, customer experience, regulatory requirements.
• Own the enterprise AI architecture strategy, ensuring AI capabilities, platforms, data governance and responsible controls are designed to scale securely.
• Establish and run enterprise architecture governance (design authorities, standards, guardrails).
• Approve or challenge major technology decisions, ensuring architecture consistency across portfolios.
• Drive simplification and modernization across the enterprise.
• Translate business strategy into capability maps and operating model requirements.
• Partner with senior leaders to define capability gaps and investment priorities.
• Build end-to-end integrated AI-based architecture and ensure engineering aligns with it.
• Define enterprise integration principles (API strategy, event-driven architecture, interoperability).
