Role Description

The Chief Engineering role is a full‑time, on‑site position located in Dallas, GA, responsible for overseeing all hotel engineering, maintenance, and physical plant operations. This role leads the engineering team to ensure optimal functioning of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment, while maintaining guest rooms and public areas in excellent condition. Day‑to‑day tasks include scheduling and supervising maintenance activities, coordinating repair projects with vendors, managing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with brand standards, safety regulations, and local codes. The Chief Engineering leader will monitor budgets, control inventory of tools and supplies, and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and sustainability. Collaboration with hotel leadership is essential to support guest satisfaction, minimize downtime, and respond quickly to operational issues.

Qualifications
  • Team Management and Team Leadership skills to supervise, coach, and develop a diverse engineering staff.
  • Engineering Management experience overseeing building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Project Management skills to plan, prioritize, and complete maintenance and renovation projects on time and within budget.
  • Software Development is not required; ability to use property management, maintenance tracking, and building automation systems is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems in a hospitality or commercial setting.
  • Understanding of safety regulations, local building codes, and environmental and energy management best practices.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally with hotel operations and vendors.
  • Previous experience as Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, or similar role in hotels or facilities management strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or trade licenses (e.g., EPA, electrical, HVAC) are highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work on‑site, respond to emergencies, and perform hands‑on maintenance tasks as needed.
