Land & Sea Development Services, Inc. seeks a professional Marine Engineer to oversee the safe operation and maintenance of all mechanical and non-mechanical systems aboard the Jean Ribault. You will ensure USCG compliance and lead a team in a culture of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities include preventing equipment failures, supervising junior engineers, conducting drills, maintaining logs, and coordinating spares and repairs to keep the vessel inspection-ready at all times.
The Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all mechanical and non-mechanical systems aboard the Jean Ribault vessel. This role ensures compliance with United States Coast Guard (USCG) regulations and manufacturer specifications. The Engineer leads preventative maintenance efforts, supervises junior engineers, and plays a key role in upholding a culture of safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.
Valid USCG DDE 4000 HP / 500 Gross Ton credential (must be maintained).
Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), or ability to obtain and maintain.
Valid First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to obtain and maintain.
Valid Driver’s License.
DD214 form if claiming Veteran status.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to lead and mentor others in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including lifting up to 75 lbs and maneuvering in confined spaces.
Proven track record in the marine industry.
Prior supervisory experience in a similar setting.
Must pass pre-employment, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing as mandated by the USCG.
