Job summary

Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering and Facilities team. This Senior leadership role oversees maintenance of resort buildings, guest rooms, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pools, and grounds, while managing a team and capital projects.

The Chief Engineer will drive preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and operational efficiency to ensure exceptional guest experiences. Flexible schedule and on‑call availability are required.

Qualifications

• Previous Chief Engineer or senior maintenance leadership experience in hotel, resort, or large commercial property.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and building maintenance.
• Experience leading, training, scheduling, and developing maintenance teams.
• Experience managing contractors, vendors, and capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Engineering and Facilities department, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of maintenance needs.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, supervise, coach, and develop Engineering team members.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and capital projects.
• Manage engineering vendors, contractors, service providers, leases, contracts, bids, and project work.
• Develop annual Engineering budgets, staffing plans, labor forecasts, operating expenses, and capex requests.
• Provide 24-hour on-call support for emergency maintenance needs.
