Job summary

Aalo Atomics, based in Austin, Texas, seeks a Chief Engineer of Product Engineering to lead all module engineering before site deployment. You will own the design, FAT, and safety submittals, guiding multiple module owners and ensuring on‑time, on‑spec fabrication in a high‑stakes regulatory environment.

The role requires 15+ years in regulated hardware, senior leadership, and a track record of releasing drawings to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in highly regulated, safety‑critical hardware industries.
• Senior technical leader on a major hardware program with schedule, budget, or P&L accountability.
• Experience releasing engineering drawings to manufacturing and owning FAT outcomes.
• Familiarity with ASME Section III, ASME NQA‑1, ASME Y14.5, or equivalent safety‑critical codes and standards.
• Experience presenting and defending technical positions before regulators (NRC, DOE, FAA, FDA).
• Led teams of 50+ engineers and managers to deliver complex hardware.
• Fluency in reading, reviewing, and producing engineering drawings, BOMs, FMEAs, and qualification test plans.
• U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810.

Responsibilities

• Walk the factory floor daily and resolve technical issues directly at the workpiece.
• Serve as the final approval authority for module designs, manufacturing drawings, and FAT results.
• Sign the Final Design exit gate package, certifying readiness for FSAR/DSA submittal.
• Align with Programs, Operations, Regulatory Affairs and Supply Chain on readiness, licensing, and manufacturing support.
