Job summary

Golden Alaska Seafoods, LLC. is seeking a Chief Engineer for our at-sea mothership sector fishing operations for Alaska Pollock and Pacific coast Hake.

You will monitor and manage the operation, maintenance and repair of all vessel engineering systems, coordinate with department heads, assist with shipyard projects, and participate in drills and safety training. Expect 10–15 trips per year on a rotation schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of at-sea engine room experience.
• Ability to monitor and log engineering activity.
• Experience coordinating with vessel department heads.
• Experience assisting with shipyard projects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage preventive maintenance for all onboard engineering systems.
• Coordinate with vessel department heads to ensure safe operation.
• Support Fishmeal and Factory Mechanics from the Engine Room.
• Provide cost analysis data for proposed system modifications.
• Maintain ship fuel and discharge logs.
• Assist Port Engineer with shipyard projects as needed.
• Participate in drills and required safety training.
• Maintain complete records of engineering department activities.
