Job description

About Fluidstack

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

How We Operate
  • Be a barrel. Full autonomy. Own things end to end, take on scope without being asked, no permission required to operate outside your core role.
  • Insane urgency. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.
  • Reason from first principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.
  • Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.
  • Build something that actually matters. If you're going to spend your time, spend it on something that matters to the world.
Examples of key problems the team is working on
  • Take product lines from clean sheet to production. This is an opportunity to reason from first principles. Challenge every industry standard and focus on Speed and Safety.
  • Build Data Center products behind 10s of GW a year. Design and productize Data Center modules, switchgear, switchboards, busway, skids, E-Houses, and cooling systems that every Fluidstack building runs.
  • Own the designs, IP, and test campaigns. Full in-house design authority on platforms Fluidstack owns outright, from the first one-line through type testing to factory acceptance.
Role Scope
  • Own the clean-sheet design of Fluidstack's UL 891 LV switchboard and UL 857 distribution busway platforms, from bus and bracing calculations to released production drawings.
  • Release both platforms for production within 12 months, running design, NRTL listing, and short-circuit test campaigns in parallel.
  • Lead a dedicated team of electrical and mechanical engineers, backed by assigned drafting, compliance, and test staff from shared engineering services.
  • Drive the listing programs end to end: test plans, witness testing at the NRTL, follow-up service setup, and the certification file the factory builds against.
  • Work with localization teams to define required design upgrades and particularities: interconnect points, protection interfaces, transport and rigging limits, and seismic anchorage.
  • Work with third party authorized vendors to deliver a consistent product across Fluidstack’s data center fleet.
What We're Looking For
  • You've designed LV switchboards or busway at an OEM and personally carried a product through UL 891 or UL 857 listing, start to finish.
  • You've run short-circuit withstand and temperature rise test campaigns and redesigned bus, bracing, or joints after a failed shot.
  • You've made the contact system, joint, and plating decisions that determine whether a busway survives thousands of load cycles in service.
  • You've designed for manufacturability at volume: sheet metal, plating, torque specifications, and assembly sequences a production line can hold shift after shift.
  • You've led a product team through a compressed release schedule and held the line on test evidence when the schedule pushed back.
  • You write ratings documentation and configuration rules clear enough that application engineers select the right product without calling you.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
