Job summary

Leidos seeks a Chief Engineer to lead engineering strategy and execution across the AEGIS program, supporting NASA at MSFC Huntsville, AL or KSC Cape Canaveral, FL. You will shape the technology roadmap, guide modernization, and manage a large multi-disciplinary engineering team to meet mission needs.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, budgeting, and close collaboration with NASA and Leidos leadership to ensure successful delivery of enterprise IT and mission-critical services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 7 years leading a large engineering team in an IT organization.
• Strong leadership, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Strong budgeting and organizational skills.
• Experience in strategic planning.
• Experience building relationships with customers and teammates.
• Experience executing development programs in an agile environment.
• Experience developing ETC/EAC estimates.
• Ability to brief Leidos and NASA senior leadership effectively.
• Technical knowledge across networks, data centers, cloud, and collaboration services.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering across all AEGIS technologies including data centers, cloud, networking, VoIP, cybersecurity, and collaboration services.
• Build strong relationships with senior NASA and Leidos leadership to ensure alignment with agency priorities.
• Develop feasibility studies, trend analyses, business cases, benchmarks, and strategic roadmaps.
• Lead design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and logistics activities.
• Mentor engineers at all levels and promote collaboration across engineering, architecture, security, operations, and program leadership.
• Support program governance to ensure new technologies align with NASA direction.
