Job summary

Complete Building Services (CBS), the largest division of The Donohoe Companies, Inc., seeks a Chief Engineer to support the operation and maintenance of a major commercial facility in Washington, DC. The role requires a DC Third Class Stationary Engineer license and hands-on management of building systems.

You will assign work, supervise subordinates and subcontractors, and ensure quality and timely maintenance using CMMS, with a 7:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Friday schedule and hourly pay of $40–$45.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid DC Third Class Stationary Engineer License.
• Must pass a background check.
• A minimum of three years of experience in a facility of comparable size and complexity.
• BAS/EMS experience.
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and maintaining all MEP systems and associated equipment.
• Knowledge of the operation, installation, and codes for MEP systems.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of engineering and building systems.
• Ability to read, review and understand blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue solicitations for the Contractor as necessary for the acquisition of goods and services in support of contract requirements.
• Administer the CMMS requirements daily.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and project tracking software.

A typical day in the life of our Chief Engineer:

• Assign work to subordinates utilizing CMMS to maintain building operations
• Provide Quality Control services for the work of subordinates and subcontractors to ensure maximum efficiency, economy, and quality of work performed

• Prepare work schedules

Hours: 7:00 am 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday

Salary $40-$45 per hour

Qualifications

• Possess a valid DC Third Class Stationary Engineer License
• Must pass a background check
• A minimum of three years(3) experience (within the past (10) years) in a facility of comparable size and complexity requiring similar services
• BAS/EMS
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and maintaining all MEP systems and associated equipment
• Possess knowledge of the composition, operation, and installation of a variety of MEP systems, circuits, equipment, and controls
• Possess knowledge of national and local applicable and respective MEP codes
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of engineering and building systems
• Ability to read, review and understand blueprints
