Job summary

Boston Government Services, LLC (BGS) seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering design and analysis for the Advanced Energy Solutions unit, onsite at Oak Ridge, TN or Idaho Falls, ID.

The role requires a civil/ mechanical/ electrical engineering degree, 15+ years nuclear experience, and proven leadership. You will supervise teams, ensure compliance with standards, and shape engineering strategy while coordinating with management and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering with active professional certification.
• 15+ years in the nuclear industry across commercial, DoD, and DoE.
• Experience leading diverse teams.
• Knowledge of engineering design and analysis principles.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams, managers, and clients.
• Familiarity with project management tools (schedules, EVM, CTC, budgets).
• Ability to draft and own engineering procedures and workflows.
• Experience developing engineering requirements and deliverables.
• U.S. citizen; able to obtain/maintain security clearance.
• Drug screening passed.
• Ability to spend long hours standing/sitting; lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering plus active certification in an engineering professional organization.
• More than 15 years’ experience in the nuclear industry, including commercial nuclear, Department of Defense, and Department of Energy support.
• Must have experience leading teams of individuals from a variety of different backgrounds and disciplines.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of engineering design and analysis
• Demonstrated experience collaborating and communicating with engineering teams, business managers, and clients.
• Understanding of project management tools including schedules, Earned Value Management, Cost to Complete, and project budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to draft and own engineering procedures, engineering manuals, and engineering workflows.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing engineering requirements, engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, reports, code interpretations).
• Must be a United State Citizen.
• Successful drug screening.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
• Must be able to spend long hours standing, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Location/Work Arrangement:

• Primary work locations will be the Oak Ridge, TN and Idaho Falls, ID offices.
• Full-time, exempt position based on a 40-hour work week.
