Job summary

Sinclair is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead all station engineering functions, plan future installations and budgets, and drive IT and broadcast systems across the facility. You will train and hire engineering staff, supervise maintenance of software, hardware, and networks, and ensure license and FCC compliance.

This on-site leadership role requires 5+ years in broadcast electrical systems and a technical degree.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in broadcast electrical systems and equipment maintenance.
  • Experience training and managing technicians with a positive and constructive attitude.
  • Proficiency in evaluating, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining broadcast equipment and IT systems.
  • Dedication to quality and time management while upholding FCC regulations.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Flexible to accommodate shift changes including extended hours, weekends, and evenings.
  • Ability to work on ladders, stand for long periods, and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Technical degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent work/education.
  • SBE certification and A+ certification preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise maintenance of computer software, hardware, and local area network applications

  • Supervise preventive maintenance and/or troubleshooting of broadcast electronical equipment, including but not limited to, cameras, audio and video equipment, microwave transmitters and receivers, satellite receivers, and computing equipment

  • Supervise and/or perform transmitter maintenance

What skills do you need to be successful in our role?
