Job summary

DCS is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering efforts for a future PACAF R&D project, delivering warfighter-ready capabilities. The position is based in Beavercreek, OH, with travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in engineering, 20+ years in DoD, and experience with AFRL; leading 100+ staff, managing $100M+ budgets, and coordinating with AFLCMC toward full acquisition.

Qualifications

• PhD in engineering with 20+ years experience (DoD preferred).
• Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Experience leading large R&D budgets and executive groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering efforts for PACAF R&D program and deliver warfighter-ready capabilities.
• Provide technical review and guidance for R&D programs.
• Manage a portfolio and business operations of a large R&D organization.
• Coordinate with AFLCMC to move projects toward full acquisition.
• Participate in an Executive Group as a senior leader.

Job description

DCS is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering efforts for a future PACAF research, development, integration, testing and evaluation project.The effort will deliver warfighter-ready capabilities to PACAF.

The position is anticipated to be in Beavercreek, OH with some travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

The ideal candidate would have a PhD in an Engineering Discipline with prior experience supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory.Ideally, the candidate would be a retired USAF Colonel or GS-15 or equivalent.

Essential Job Functions:

• Prior experience managing a technology portfolio and the business operations of a complex R&D Organization in AFRL.
• Led and managed an R&D Organization with 100+ employees.
• Provided technical review and guidance for R&D programs.
• Prior experience serving as a member of an Executive Group.
• Experience developing and managing large ($100M+ R&D budgets.
• Ability to work with large and small business subcontractors to research a project, develop solutions, integration of solutions, test and evaluation of solutions, deliver a prototype project, and work with AFLCMC to move projects to full acquisition.
• Experience with C5ISRT, counter-C5ISRT, and Agile Combat Employment is a plus.

Required Skills:

• Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret Level Clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Master's Degree or PhD in an engineering field and 20+ years of experience with 12+ years of experience in the DoD.PhD is preferred.
