Job summary

RiseMe in Ardmore, OK, seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the Maintenance Department responsible for repair and preventive maintenance of industrial washers, dryers, boilers, compressors, conveyors and related equipment.

You will supervise staff, manage safety and housekeeping, control budgets and parts purchasing, read blueprints and schematics, and ensure timely completion of PMs and major projects while driving process improvements in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• Five years or more of management and industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering highly desirable but not required.
• Strong leadership, proactive, decisive and able to solve problems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and electrical/electronic schematics.
• Order parts by cross-referencing to local vendors.
• Ensure PMs and major projects are completed efficiently and timely.
• Plan, organize and control plant operations and building renovations.
• Review and evaluate programs, services, policies and procedures.
• Monitor performance and conduct evaluations; address promotions/discipline as needed.

Job description

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the repair and maintenance of industrial washers, dryers, boilers, compressors, conveyors, and other equipment. They will administer and direct the entire Maintenance Department, equipment, building and grounds.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and train the maintenance staff,
• Maintain all safety policies and good housekeeping.
• Responsible for inventory control and purchasing of equipment, parts and maintain department budget.
• Responsible for supervising repairs and maintenance of industrial washers, dryers, boilers, compressors, conveyors, and other equipment.
• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair equipment, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Required to troubleshoot, install minor equipment, analyze and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults, including compressed air operated machines with little supervision.
• Able to read blueprints and electrical/electronic schematics.
• Order parts by cross-referencing to local vendors.
• Ensure that PMs, minor fine tuning of laundry systems, and major project work are completed efficiently and in a timely basis.
• Plans, organizes, and controls functions and activities of plant operations and building renovations.
• Reviews and evaluates existing programs, services, policies, and procedures.
• Monitors work performance and prepares and/or reviews performance evaluations for assigned personnel.
• Periodically evaluate the performance of staff, recommending appropriate action such as promotions, disciplinary issues, and terminations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Five years or more of management and industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering highly desirable but not required.
• Strong leadership skills, proactive, decisive, problem solver able to think outside the box to create strategies in a changing environment with no supervision.

• Strong work ethic, highly independent and goal oriented.
• Safety metrics is to be the highest priority.

• Flexible schedule including days/nights, weekends, and holidays.

Computer / Technical Skills / Job Specific Skills:

• Computer literate. Basic to advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Microsoft 365.
• Able to read blueprints and schematics.
• Comprehensive knowledge of overall department functions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivated individualwith the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentand handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
