Job summary

The City of Wichita Kansas seeks an Economic Development Director to chart the City’s economic future, lead business recruitment, retention, redevelopment, and investment, and turn ambitious goals into tangible results. The director will serve as the bridge between City Hall, developers, and regional partners to drive momentum for Wichita.

The position requires extensive knowledge of municipal finance, incentives, and urban development, plus a track record of transforming plans into completed

Qualifications

• Knowledge of municipal finance and incentives.
• Experience leading economic development initiatives and teams.
• Strong ability to develop and manage public/private partnerships.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and develop pro formas.

Responsibilities

• Lead economic development initiatives and strategies for Wichita.
• Develop incentives, partnerships, and redevelopment proposals.
• Represent the City with stakeholders, prepare reports and presentations.
