This position serves as the Chief Court Administrator for the First Judicial Circuit, and is responsible for planning, directing, administering, and coordinating administrative, business, and support functions required to support judicial proceedings and programs; establishes goals, formulates and implements policies, procedures, and controls to promote effective and efficient operations; oversees court programs, resources, fiscal and personnel functions; coordinates workflow and activities among organizational units, judicial circuits, and Judiciary administration; and provides leadership and guidance to subordinate administrators, managers, and supervisors.
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
Excess work experience as described under Specialized Experience below, or any other responsible administrative, professional or analytical work experience which provided knowledge and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge and abilities.
The education or experience background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex written material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically.
Clerical work experience is non-qualifying.
For purposes of this section, non-supervisory and supervisory work experience performing and/or supervising general clerical tasks is not qualifying.
Three (3) years of Staff Specialist or Supervisory Experience as defined below.
The required years of Supervisory Experience is separate from meeting the Specialized Experience requirement under 1.
Four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience in a court or legal setting, social work or administrative program of the courts which involved active participation in and major responsibility for the development of policies and procedures; and the development, management, execution and coordination of program operations and activities.
