Job summary

North American Partners in Anesthesia is seeking a Chief Anesthesiologist to join UPMC Hanover. This role requires MD or DO, completion of anesthesiology residency, and board eligibility or certification to lead a diverse anesthesia service.

Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive anesthesia care, pre-anesthesia evaluations, planning and coordinating perioperative care, and clinical leadership within the department.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Completion of Anesthesiology Residency is required.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified status preferred.
• Active medical licensure in good standing.
• ECFMG/FLEX certification if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical procedures.
• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent.
• Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients.
• Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Monitoring of the patient’s physiological condition and interventions as needed.
• Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership.

UPMC Hanover is accredited by The Joint Commission, including being a Certified Primary Stroke Center. In addition, UPMC Hanover has achieved the status of Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care, and Get With the Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus.

Total Rewards

Salary: $500K annually
Chief Bonus: $45K
Sign on Incentive: $50K

Case Assignments

• Diverse case mix including orthopedics, general surgery, urology, endoscopy, ENT and ophthalmology. No cardiac or neuro cases. Limited pediatric cases.
